“Money doesn’t grow on trees, or does it?”
String of Coins
Peperomia Prostrata Pepperspot
Easy to grow
Safe around children / pets
No prior experience required
Originates
The String of Coins plant originates from Brazil.
Overview
It takes its name from its rounded, coin-shaped leaves which trail. An attractive plant that is considered easy to care for, and happy living in offices or darker corners of the house.
Position
This plant can be kept trimmed so it fits within a pot, or left to trail, so equally happy in a pot on a shelf or window sill.
Watering
Always allow the soil to dry fully between watering as roots are susceptible to rot. As with other succulents String of Coins thrive with less watering.
How to make plant fuller
The String of Coins is the slowest to grow of our trailing plant selection. Propagation is possible with this plant, but we would recommend a cutting is taken and propagated in water first to encourage roots ahead of planting.
Repotting
You will know when your String of Coins plant requires a new or larger pot, as it may stop growing, look weaker or less healthy than the previous season. A peat-free cactus or succulent mix is recommended to encourage the right level of drainage for this succulent.
